Paola Fountain

You will discover carefree and melancholy of the Acqua Paola Fountain, perhaps one of the most beautiful in Rome, realized by the Baroque architect Giovanni Fontana and located on the Janiculum hill at the end of Via Garibaldi. This is the place where the opening scene with the chorus of women was filmed.

Via Veneto, with his elegance style, exclusive hotels and luxury boutique is maybe an icon of the italian cinema; this is the street famous for Fellini’s movie “La Dolce Vita”.

Paola Fountain

The mistery of  Villa del Priorato di Malta on the Aventine Hill, the famous ‘Gran priorato di Roma dei cavalieri di Malta’ headquarter. The villa is well known for a feature: from the keyhole on the main door you can exactly see the “Cupola di San Pietro”. This is the place where of the Giorgio Pasotti’s scene.

The magnificence of Castel Sant’Angelo, built in 125 A.C by the emperor Adriano as personal funeral mausoleum. It is located on the right side of the Tiber opposite to the Ponte Sant’Angelo, built in 134 by the Demetrianus in the nearness of San Pietro. Some movie‘s stages was set near Castel Sant’Angelo.

The Gianicolo, with his famous cannon under the Garibaldi’s statue; the cannon was located there on January 1904 and everyday, at 12 am, it shoots blanks. You can hear it in the movie too.

The Fontana di Trevi, one of the most famous in the world. Designed by Nicola Salvi, was inaugurated in 1735. Obviously you can see the fountain in the Sorrentino’s movie.

The Colosseum an icon of the roman History, the world’s largest amphitheater. The built was begun by emperor Vespasiano in 72 A.C and inaugurated by Tito in 80 A.C. The name ‘Colosseo’ took place by a Nerone’s colossal statue which was there and, of course, by the greatness of the built.
